Perkins County FFA State Results

Another successful convention is in the books.  Thank you for all your support and work in your classroom, to allow these students the opportunity to have the problem solving skills needed to be competitive.  I saved some of the best for the last part of this report.  What isn't mentioned: 6800 FFA students attended the 91st State convention.  Matthew W, and Summer P, sang in front of thousands of people over 7 sessions.  Matt M assisted other FFA students in packing thousands of meals for Food Bank of the Heartland.  Tanner B, Caleb L, Sam M, Matthew W, and Jacob W all received their state FFA degrees.

180 Chapters eligible in Nebraska (440 individuals) competing on the anatomy of a perch with general knowledge of Agriculture, FFA, and Natural Resources. 

Team of: Hayden F, Savannah S, Hallie F, & Bryder H

Team Place : 31st place – Red ribbon.

Hayden F – Tied 84th place – Blue ribbon

Savannah S - Tied 84th place – Blue ribbon



180 Chapters eligible in Nebraska (410 individuals) competing on the identification of crop and weed seed, Soil formation, water utilization, plant diseases, insects and nutrient deficiency symptoms.

Team of: Zach M, Alyssa M, Matt M, & Kyler B.

Team Place: 75th place (out of ribbons)


Environmental & Natural Resources

180 Chapters eligible in Nebraska (446 individuals) competing on the identification of Nebraska wildlife, scat, tracks,  endangered species, invasive species, water utilization, soil structure and development, and solving problems of runoff, flood, or pollution problems.

Team of: Tanner B, Aaron F, Josh M, and Hayden F

Team Place: 27th place – Blue ribbon

Tanner B – Tied 13th place – Purple. ribbon

Josh M –  Tied 76th place – Blue ribbon

Aaron F -  Tied for 145th place – Red ribbon


Farm & Agribusiness Management

180 Chapters eligible in Nebraska (335individuals) competing on financial practices including, mortgage, depreciation, ratios, loan repayment, profit and loss, budgeting, commodity trading and hedging, plus many other basic business management practices.

Team of: Jacob W, Jaden D, Jace W, and Caleb L.

Team Place: 34th place – Red ribbon

Jacob W – Tied 97th place – Red ribbon

Jaden D – Tied 115th place – Red ribbon

Jace W – Tied 148th place – White ribbon


Food Science

36 Chapters Compete (144 individuals)

Jaden D – Tied 58th place – Red Ribbon



Junior Livestock Evaluation

50 chapters competing ( 200 individuals) Judging Beef, Swine, Goat, and Sheep in both market and breeding scenarios.  Includes reasons and questions classes.

Team of: Dani B, Alyssa M, Kylie T, and Hallie F.

Team Place – 19th place -  Red ribbon

Dani B – 17th place

Alyssa M – 58th place – Red ribbon


Nursery & Landscape

44 Chapters competing (175 individuals) plant & insect identification, design concepts, and utilization of materials, plants and topography in landscape design and maintenance.

Team of: Caleb L, Miah L, Evan S, and Jacob W.

Team Place – 23rd place – White ribbon

Caleb L – Tied 33rd place – Blue ribbon

Miah L -  Tied 72nd place – Red ribbon

Evan S – Tied 72nd place – Red ribbon
