Forensic Science:
Today the Perkins County Sheriff’s Office set up a crime scene for students to solve. Students applied the skills they learned to solve the murder mystery. Forensic Science is a new-to-PCS, semester-long course taught by Mrs. Amanda Wood.

Preschool:
The preschool classes took a field trip to the Hastings Memorial Library in Grant. Miss Val read books, gave a library tour and shared the summer reading program with students.

The HS Quiz Bowl Team ran into a former Grant faculty member at today's State Meet. Doug Mahoney taught at GEMS from 1985-91. Ironically, he was the homeroom teacher for the parents of a number of our current PC Quiz Bowl Team members. Doug just retired from teaching at Malcolm.


5th Grade Science:
Mrs. McCord's students have been learning about lunar cycles. During today's lab they depicted moon phases using Oreo cookies.

This group is rolling out as soon as everyone returns from track practice + today’s golf meet. The HS Quiz Bowl Team will stay the night in Hastings. Tomorrow’s All-Class State QB Tournament is a one-day event. Best of luck to the squad and Coach Bishop!

3rd Grade Field Trip:
Today the 3rd graders traveled to Sterling, CO, to visit the Overland Trails Museum. They learned about area history, got to pan for gold and pretended to be archeologists.

PCS 2nd graders took a field trip to Pankonin’s Puppy Farm just outside of Grant.
