Preschoolers were excited to welcome the Perkins County Sheriff’s Office to their classroom for community helper week! Students enjoyed learning about the important work our local law enforcement officers do to keep our community safe.

The Girls Golf Team competed today at Crandall Creek in Ogallala. Courtesy of a kind donor, the girls enjoyed a much-deserved treat from Scooters on the way home!
The team will compete at Bridgeport on Thursday.

These 8th graders are in Industrial Arts. This is one of the 9-week "Exploratory" courses they'll take this year. Currently, they are cutting and sanding wood pieces for their pallet wood sign project.

It's #SeatbeltSafetyWeek (Sept. 21-25, 2026). This program is planned and led by a committee of PCS FFA members. Olivia and Shyne were on hand before school to pass out candy to students and staff who were seen wearing their seatbelts. Additionally, morning Jr/Sr HS announcements will include seatbelt safety facts.

Perkins County 7th-10th grade JAG students honored the 25th anniversary of 9/11 through lessons, reflection, and projects focused on courage, service, and sacrifice. Students learned about “The Man in the Red Bandana,” created red-bandana projects, and wrote thank-you notes to local firefighters and police officers to show appreciation for those who serve our community.

Mrs. Richmond uses @ZanerBloser materials to teach students cursive handwriting. Learning cursive helps students develop fine-motor skills and writing fluency while also giving them the ability to read and understand handwritten text.
