Students are working on identifying various types of text structure. This week the focus is on compare and contrast. Students used hoola hoops to make a Venn diagram and compared/contrasted two different given topics.

JH HAL – October Field Trip:
Students visited Ash Hollow Cemetery and Windlass Hill near Lewellen, NE, where they explored the geological and historical significance of the area. Their learning spanned ancient history — from extinct plants and animals to ancient tribal groups, Native Americans, historic trails, early settlers, and battle sites.
Many thanks to Tamara Bailey Cooper, Park Superintendent, for sharing her knowledge and serving as the students’ tour guide!
NOTE: At the JH level, HAL (High Ability Learners) students participate in monthly field trips focused on career exploration, discovering more about the surrounding area, and developing new skills through hands-on experiences.
