Fire Prevention & Safety Week:
PK, 1,2 and 3 graders enjoyed a presentation given by members of the Grant Volunteer Fire Department. They gave safety tips and let students take an up-close look at what a firefighter looks like while on the job.

PCS Elementary MTSS team members were highlighted at this year’s MTSS Conference. They presented their system "Putting the Pieces Together” to resource/classroom teachers and administrators from across the state of Nebraska.

Members of the PCS Board of Education Curriculum Subcommittee met with Superintendent Jones and Mrs. Deanne Bishop, Curriculum Director, for a fall “State of the District - Curriculum Meeting.” This meeting gave members an overview of PCS systems, materials, budget items and projections for the next five years.
Current members of the Curriculum Subcommittee include Tori Gengenbach, Jason Noyes and Jayson Bishop.

Mrs. McCord's science students are investigating the question, "Why do we see different stars at different times of year?" Students created a classroom model of Earth, the Sun, and stars. Students (Earth) "spin on their axis and orbit the "Sun" while observing how their position changes which constellations they can see in the nighttime sky.
It's #WayBackWednesday, and Mr. Burge found this key to an agronomy seed ID kit (written in cursive, no less) on the back of the daily announcements dated Nov. 26, 1986!
