UNK juniors and PCS 2022 alumna, Madelyn Ingold & Samantha Patrick, are presenting their work as a part of the UNK Interior Design Spring Show. Former PCS Superintendent and current ESU 15 Director, Phillip Picquet, was there to support his former students and see their work.

4th Grade ELA:
To wrap up our “Treasure Island” CKLA unit, 4th graders were sent on a treasure hunt through the school. The buried treasure (flavor packets their water bottles) was kept by Pirate Summers.

Public Librarian Val Foster has spent the past two days at the elementary talking with classes about the summer reading program at Grant's Hastings Memorial Library.

TeamMates Mentoring:
PCS TeamMates was awarded a $750 check from the NE Community Foundation. Our Advisor, Julie Ferguson, applied for it through the Perkins Co. Community Foundation. This money will help pay for annual background checks for mentors, like Mrs. Heckman.

It’s #ThrowbackThursday. In honor of the @PCS_Pride seniors graduating this Saturday, here’s a look back at our staff members’ senior photos (which span six decades).

Animal Science:
Students raised and processed broilers from chicks in the new Animal Learning Lab. In addition to being involved in the care and processing of the chickens, students tracked growth data and will calculate dressing percentages and breakeven point. #CTE

Forty-three years ago this young gal left David City and took her first teaching job in Grant telling her dad, “It will probably only be for 1 or 2 years.” Cheri McCormick spent the next 43 years as a Gr. 1, Gr. 2 and Title teacher at GEMS/PCS. Happy (much-deserved) retirement.

The seniors took a couple of minutes for a memorial dedication ceremony at the “Miss Kami bench” in front of the Elementary. Many of these seniors were a part of Kami Krajewski’s first group of preschool students at PCS.
